About this chart
Not for navigation.
This site shows an exploratory interpolation of historical NOS hydrographic soundings.
It is not an official chart, not surveyed to modern charting standards for
recreational navigation, and must not be used for navigation, dredging, diving clearance,
or any safety-critical purpose. Vertical datum is TBD / PARKED.
What you are looking at
The public face of the Lake Pend Oreille fishing depth-chart pilot: Structure Signal classified heatmap under contour overlays, product readings in feet, default contour step 10 ft (tunable down to 2 ft), and a required TIN ↔ IDW method toggle (plus overlay and side-by-side). Soft land fill outside the lake hull is intentional for this chart.

Shoreline
Shoreline: USGS National Hydrography Dataset (NHD/NHDPlus HR) waterbody, accessed 2026-10-07 (Lake Pend Oreille, Permanent_Identifier 120026590). Heatmaps and contours are clipped to this polygon. NHD is the average/visible water edge — no full-pool claim; vertical datum TBD.
What is not here yet
- Polished public UI / branding (meet may later choose TIN-only for polished face)
- Context basemap tiles — none by decision: soft land fill
#E8E2D6+ shoreline stroke, no tile layers (P2 lock 2026-10-07) - ArcGIS FGDB / shapefile publish — blocked on vertical datum B2
- Projected EPSG:2243 heatmaps in the map (viewer uses a geographic copy; staging pack exists off-site)
